We built Blue Heart on the idea that your accountant should feel like a thought partner (not a robot with a calculator). When we work with you, we’re in it with you. Elbows-deep. Eyes forward. Caffeine at the ready.
With 25+ years in accounting, a degree from BYU–Idaho, and Enrolled Agent credentials, I’ve helped hundreds of business owners clean up their books, save thousands in taxes, and plan for real growth. But Blue Heart Accounting is about more than numbers, it’s about people. So here's who I am as a person:
I’m a wife, mom of four, and lover of both paddleboarding and snowboarding. Balancing is kinda my thing (boards, spreadsheets, family life).
If you’re ready for a tax pro who brings clarity, strategy, and a little fun to the table, let’s talk.
Hi, I’m Shelby! I’m an Enrolled Agent with a BS in Accounting from BYU–Idaho and over 8 years of experience in tax prep and bookkeeping. I help individuals and small business owners navigate taxes with clarity and confidence. While most people dread tax season, I love it—because I get to take something big and stressful off your plate.
One of my favorite parts of this work is bringing clarity year-round—not just at the deadline. I believe in staying connected, keeping tabs on your books, and spotting smart opportunities to save. With proactive planning and clear advice, you’ll feel more confident every step of the way.
When I’m not working, I’m cheering on my kids, camping or fishing in the Idaho outdoors, sneaking in a game of pickleball, and almost always sipping a soda.
Our beautiful home state, Idaho, is carved by the Snake River. And as beautiful as it can be, it's also incredibly messy. Muddy. And a little wild.
But keep going (just a little downstream) and it transforms into something stunning: Blue Heart Springs. Water so clear you can see all the way down. Still. Calm. Predictable. Under control. And one of my favorite places to be on my paddleboard.
That’s the work we do with finances. We guide you through the messy middle and into something that finally makes sense. Numbers that speak. Strategy that supports. And a business you can actually see clearly.
But there's another side to our story—one even closer to my heart.
The name Blue Heart is a tribute to two people who changed everything for me: Benjamin Davis of Blu-D Construction in Idaho, and John Hart of Hart Industries in Utah. They are more than clients. They are friends who believed in me before this business had a name. They cheer for me when I need courage. They remind me what I am capable of. And they immediately signed up to continue to work with me at my new company and even upgraded their service packages. That kind of belief? It’s rare. And it’s powerful.
So I named this company after them—because I want to give you that same kind of support. The kind that says: “I see you. I believe in what you're building. And I’m in your corner, all the way.”
That’s what Blue Heart is all about.
